English food at its best is hearty, simple and delicious. England has developed different foods which have influenced other countries. English food has lots of history behind it passed on from older generations.
Breakfast
A light breakfast might consist of cereal, boiled or scrambled eggs and toast. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the upper classes ate elaborate (detailed) breakfasts including such dishes as kedgeree (rice, eggs and fish) and kidneys. Now, the substantial breakfast within the UK is the Full English, or "Fry Up" (which you can see on the left, please click the picture to make it bigger!)
Lunch
Here in England lunch usually last around one hours, which is quite similar to the French now. Tea or Dinner is eaten much earlier than the French with about a three hour differences as most English people will eat their tea at around half past four/five o'clock. Within England, food is not seen as important as it is in France and there are usually not as many courses on a normal night. (What did you have for your tea last night?)
Drinks
Tea is a very popular drink within England and most adults drink it everyday! It can be served lots of different ways depending on what you prefer. Since the 18th century England has been the largest country of tea drinking (Wow!). Today you can gets lots of different flavours of tea such as orange, blackcurrant, chocolate mint, earl grey and many more!
